I’m Ayla (pronounced Kayla without the K) the owner and founder of Events by Ayla. As your wedding planner, creative designer, and professional chaos organizer, I take care of each detail to ensure everything comes together smoothly and your wedding is everything you envisioned!
Originally from Homer, Alaska, I now call the Mat-Su Valley home with my husband, Kyle, our three boys, and our sweet black Lab, Oakley.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Alaska and am a Certified International Event and Wedding Professional and Certified International Event Decor Professional. After college, I knew I wanted to combine my passion for helping people with my love for planning and design. In 2019, Events by Ayla was born!
As a working mom of three, wife, and business owner, one of my core values is quality over quantity. I intentionally accept a limited number of weddings each year so I can give every couple a personal, attentive, and highly involved planning experience.

The Heart Behind
Events by Ayla
Amanda and I first met in 2022 when she and her now-husband, Josh, hired me as their Full-Service Wedding Planner. We spent the next 18 months planning their wedding together and immediately clicked. After the wedding, Amanda told me she had loved the experience so much that she wasn’t ready to leave the wedding industry, and the rest is history!
She began interning with Events by Ayla and quickly became someone I knew I could trust beside me on wedding days. Now, she joins me for nearly all of my weddings, helping with everything from setting décor and organizing materials to making sure the countless little things we planned are carried out exactly as intended.
Because Amanda was first one of my brides, she understands the Events by Ayla experience from both perspectives. She knows how much preparation goes into every wedding and brings such a genuine, joyful presence to each day. Somewhere along the way, she also became one of my closest friends, my Veuve-champagne-loving girl (only served in a thin glass), and SUCH an important part of Events by Ayla. I’m endlessly grateful for the care she gives my couples and how naturally she works alongside me! As Events by Ayla continues to grow, Amanda’s role will grow right alongside it. I’m so excited for our future together and for even more couples to experience the warmth, dedication, and joy she brings to this work!
